At the Florida BMO conference Rob reiterates gold is a currency, stating he still see’s $5000/oz coming. They are still working towards S+P 500 inclusion by 2015, implying some significant acquisitions between now and then. Interesting times ahead. See link here. Link to webcast.

Below is an interesting read on silver, some facts I hadn’t run across before. I have an investment in McEwen Mining so the authors comments on Mexico silver (think MUX’s El Gallo play) was interesting that Mexico likely only has 10 yrs supply and may consider restricting exports of silver or monitizing silver. I attended the McEwen Mining AGM this afternoon, here is an update Ian noted Argentina government hassles will delay funds. They must go thru central bank. Funds must be moved into peso’s, then you need to get permission to transfer funds out of the country, this is expected to cost them $1.5 million this year. also [...]

Today I attended the special meeting for US Gold and Minera Andes. Us Gold meeting took place first at 4pm where the 5 proposals were reviewed and presented, all passed with 95% support. Today MAI has its Q4 numbers out, silver production was up a modest 10% but to changes should be of interest. First Minera Andes has finally got Hochschild to agree to a significant increase in drilling, almost double last year.
